Backstory:
Born and raised in Sendai (still not sure if the tsunami will be brought into canon). His family consists of his parents and two siblings: His biological mother, her husband, and their two kids together, who are Tora's older brother and younger sister. His mother had a short 'affair' while overseas, which was a last ditch effort for the man (who ended up becoming Banchou's biological father) to agree to some terms and an alliance with the company she works for. Life in the Toraki household was never the same, and while there is only a short 3 years between Tora and his older brother, there's a whopping 7 between him and his younger sister. The older section of the family took all their tension out on Banchou, who quickly refused to introduce himself by his given name, because of the pronunciation and unlucky meaning. While his younger sister was raised with this tension surrounding her, the little bit that she saw this brother of hers, she loved him and ended up being immune to what the rest of his family said about him. Tora grew up rather independent; he learned how to make his own lunches for school, and avoided his house as much as he could. He did play with his little sister on occasion and tried to make do with his parents. Fortunately he was never abused; they fed and sheltered him, and he was given hand-me-downs in terms of clothes and toys. He was, unfortunately, normally left behind when the family went on trips, passed to a family member or kind neighbor. When he was older, he tended to stay at friends' or girlfriends' houses whenever he could. Once he was ready for high school, his parents were more than happy to spend the money and send him to a dorm school in Nakano. There, he quickly found a fairly large gang, challenged the leader, and gave a wonderful display of a very hostile takeover. His charisma and attitude quickly garnered respect from the members who couldn't quite stop the sudden new leader. He happily led the gang for his first year of high school, with little events other than quickly growing the group's size and making new friends in the process His second year brought a scrawny but strong first year student, who ended up with the nicknames 'Princess' from the gang members and 'Rusty' from Banchou himself. Rusty quickly became an asset to the gang, and also Banchou's best friend, right up there with another member Haruto. That year, however, was the last year the gang existed under Banchou's reign. After a very large plan failed, Banchou shouldered all of the weight of the gang onto himself. He was expelled and sent to Inaba, where Rusty followed. Banchou couldn't keep up his title, as his hijinks were very unwelcome, and he was expelled yet again. He continues to live and work there, part time at a convenience store, making a couple new friends and strengthening his relationship with Rusty a little further. |
Toraki ----
He's either really cheerful, or angry as a wolverine. Sometimes he's depressed over his past, but normally gets over it or becomes mad. Also very much a hornball. He's fine making and holding friendships if he puts forth the effort, but most romantic relationships only last a week or two when he's involved.
In the gang, he was called Banchou and nothing else. Nowadays he's known just by Tora. He does not like his given name used freely. Only his family calls him by that name. Age: 18 Birthday: January 17 Gender: Male Occupation: Student Species: Human Significant Other: Rusty Family: Parents, older (half-)brother, and younger (half-)sister. All but the latter despise him, but the feeling is mutual. His biological father lives somewhere in Ontario, Canada. Likes: Women, alcohol, sleeping, working out, fighting, cute things. Dislikes: Being nagged, his parents and older half-brother, technology, school. Relationships:
